Description

This anime series combines elements of Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and other classic fairy tales and sets them in a modern-day anime universe in order to create a new and magical story. It involves Himeno, a high school girl who is told by a beautiful stranger that she is believed to be the fabled princess that can save the Earth from destruction. Meanwhile, Himeno’s close bond with her father is being challenged by her his jealous new wife, who scorns Himeno for being so dear to him. She and her two spoiled daughters are making Himeno’s life harder and harder, but Himeno lacks the courage to tell her father and spoil his misperception of family bliss. Can Himeno rise to the challenge of saving the world, and maybe even standing up to her step-mother? Pretear illustrates how the conventions of classic fairy tales still resonate with the lives that we lead today.
